A Leader with a Heart to Serve
Harry Stackhouse was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi but moved to Waukegan, Illinois at the age of 6, where he received his early education. Shortly after graduation from high school he entered the Army during the Viet Nam era, where he worked as a personnel management specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1969. Upon completion of his military service he attended College of Lake County and the University of Illinois Circle Campus.
Between 1979 and 1983, Harry was an entrepreneur. He and a partner owned clothing stores in the Chicagoland area. He later worked as National Sales Manager for the ladies’ division of a leather garment importing company.
Harry Stackhouse served as senior pastor of The Sign of the Dove Ministries in Waukegan, Illinois for 28 years, which he co-founded with his wife Deborah in 1989. He is the president of DMI (Dove Ministries International, a group of non-denominational churches) united to provide accountability, inspiration, fellowship, training, leadership development, social and spiritual transformation across the globe. He is president of R.O.P.E. (Restoration and options for People Excluded) a ministry developed to help those disenfranchised because of moral life mistakes assimilate into society, and he is president of Shelia Daniels Christian Academy, a Christian School established to give children in an urban setting a high quality education that is Christian based.
Harry Stackhouse is a graduate of Trinity College of the Bible. He is an international speaker who has a heart to help pastors build spiritually sound healthy churches. It has been said that, “He has the heart of the Father”. He ministers to over 37 DMI churches in Uganda with five (5) churches in Tanzania, 1 in the Republic of Congo, and 1 in Kenya, 1in Czech Republic, and he is the covering for 7 The Sign of the Dove Churches in the United States.
Harry Stackhouse is a minister of the gospel for over 35 years, 28 years as co-founder of The Sign of the Dove Church in Waukegan, Illinois. Prior to his calling into the ministry he was an entrepreneur who owned 2 men’s clothing stores in the Chicagoland area. He received a BA degree in Biblical Counseling from Trinity College of the Bible, Newburgh, Indiana. Harry’s gift to the body of Christ is bringing ministers and churches together across racial, ethnic, and religious lines. He is the founder of ROPE Ministries (Restoration and Options for People Excluded), 12 month re-entry program, established to help people who were incarcerated for drug and alcohol addictions regain their lives. He and his wife Deborah are the overseers of approximately 40 churches in East Africa, 5 churches in the USA. Harry is a conference speaker, has taught and trained leaders in Europe, USA, Asia, Africa and have spoken on college campuses
